We survived the first night!

The first night wasn't as bad as I expected, although I can tell this is going to take some getting used to. He woke up at 2, 4, and 6, but then luckily he slept for quite awhile this morning, so I was able to get a good nap in. He's been a little jaundiced, so I've had him laying in the sun today to help with that. We go to the doctor tomorrow to have his jaundice checked again. Hopefully it's not too bad. I just can't believe how tiny newborns are! They make clothes that are supposedly for 0-3 months, and they look so tiny, until you put them on. Then they are HUGE! I know he's going to be growing out of them before I know it, though. They change so fast! I love having him so little, though. He loves to snuggle right up against your chest, and I think he'd stay like that all the time if we'd let him. Hopefully he doesn't grow out of that. I love to snuggle!

He sleeps most of the time, but he was wide awake long enough to get a picture of him with his eyes open.

Here Treyden is sunbathing. Hopefully it will help that jaundice!

He's finally here!!

Treyden Andrew was born on Monday, February 25, at 8:03 pm. He weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and was 20 in long. I'm glad he was 10 days early, otherwise he could have been a big baby! So, I went to the doctor Monday morning to recheck my blood pressure, and it was high again, so the doctor said, let's go ahead and induce you. He didn't think it was an emergency, but said there was no point in waiting any longer since the baby was full term. So we went home, grabbed a few things, and headed to the hospital. I actually had a really easy labor (from what I hear). They started me on pitocin and I hardly progressed at all for about 4 hours when the doctor broke my water. After that the contractions started coming on HARD and less than a minute apart. Thank goodness it only took them 10 minutes to come do the epidural. I have no idea how people do it natural! In 2 1/2 hours I went from a 2 to completely dialated. They went to have me push for a little bit to get the baby crowned and all ready for the doctor to come, but when I went to push, his little head was already there and waiting, so the nurse freaked out, and said not to do ANYTHING. They called the doctor and had him come, and after pushing through 3 or 4 contractions, he was here! Both him and I have been really healthy, and got to come home this morning. He is so cute and we are so excited to finally be parents! A softer side definitely comes out on these men when they become daddies. Andy can't get enough of him, and loves to either be holding him, or taking pictures of him all the time. It is amazing to me how much he has changed just in the last 2 days. Now that the swelling has gone down from being born, he looks so cute! I'll have to take some more pictures tomorrow when I have more time. Tonight will be our first night at home, so we'll cross our fingers that it goes okay!
About 30 minutes after he was born. He's not so happy from being manhandled for all the measurements, and shots, and all that.

The 1st Day. His daddy wanted a picture without him all bundled like a burrito. He has LONG fingers and toes!

Any day now...

Wow, I can't believe we are actually going to be parents any day now. The reality is finally starting to set in, and I have to admit...it's a little scary!! I technically have about two weeks left, but it's looking like I probably won't make it that long. I went to the doctor yesterday and my blood pressure was high...again. It has been the last little while, but this time it was a little higher than before and wouldn't go down with rest. The doctor did a non stress test, blood work, and an ultrasound. Everything was pretty good, but the doctor's having me come back again on Monday to test my blood presure and do another non stress test. He basically said that I'm not to the point where he feels like he needs to send me to the hospital to deliver the baby, but things are starting to creep that way. I guess we'll find out Monday! He also stripped my membranes at my appointment yesterday. OWWW!! I've been having contractions off and on since about 4 or 5 last night, but nothing very intense or regular, just enough to make me uncomfortable. So who knows...it could be any day now. I just hate the waiting game!! I decided I better take a picture of the belly, since I haven't taken one for awhile, and I'm not going to have it much longer. Well, I'll keep things posted on my progress!
