Yesterday was Treyden's first birthday. I can't believe how fast the year has gone! We went to Idaho over the weekend, so Treyden got to celebrate there, too, but I forgot to copy the pictures from my parents' camera so I don't have those pictures. Here are a few pictures from his party last night. We just had Andy's parents and grandma, and Andy's sister and her family over. It was fun.
The cake! I am not much of a baker, so even though I was prepared with an extra cake mix, just in case, I was excited when it worked out on the first try.
Singing happy birthday.
He's telling us he's had enough!
Opening presents. The basketball hoop in the background was his main present, but Andy was so excited about it that he put it together a couple days early. Treyden loves it. I'll have to put some video on here of him making baskets.

Here are some now and then pictures...

Then...minutes after Treyden was born
February 25, 2009
Now...exactly one year later (almost to the minute)
Treyden LOVES to be outside, so I'm excited for the warmer weather because he has a very short attention span and gets bored easily. Yesterday Andy was working on his truck installing a plug-in for the lights on his trailer so I sent Treyden out there with him. I think he was a lot of help!
A couple days ago I was doing dishes and Treyden was standing next to me reaching for things in the dishwasher. I turned to the sink to scrub off a plate and when I turned back to put the plate in the dishwasher, this is what I found...
I have no idea how he was able to get up there so fast and without me hearing him. Sneaky little guy!
A little while later I found him in his toy room, standing on top of this activity table that he has.
100 days may seem like a lot, but really it's going to be here before we know it! When I start thinking that in 2 weeks I will be in my 3rd trimester, after my next doctor's appointment I'll start going in every two weeks, and that Treyden was born when I was just over 38 weeks, which is only 12 weeks away I'm starting to realize that 100 days really is not as much it sounds. I have to admit I was pretty overwhelmed when I first found out I was pregnant. The idea of having babies 15 months apart, when I had a 6 month old at the time was a lot to take in, but I'm getting really excited! Treyden is starting to grow up so much and become a lot more independent. I know it's still going to be busy at times, but it does not seem nearly as overwhelming as when I Treyden was 6 months old. It will be so fun to have the two little boys! My brother and his wife just had their little boy today! Luckily he came 2 weeks early because he was 9 lb 2 oz! He would have been HUGE! We get to go to Idaho next week to see them, and I'm so excited. That will just make me start getting every more anxious to have this baby. Here's a picture of me taken today at almost 26 weeks...only 100 days to go! :)
Treyden does not like to go down for his naps. He'll usually cry for 5-10 minutes before he falls asleep. So the other day when I went in his toy room to find him fast asleep on the bean bag I was AMAZED! He'd gotten pretty quiet, which usually means trouble, but I did not expect to find him asleep.
The other day I was looking for something new to feed Treyden because he was going through this picky stage. I found a can of ravioli and decided to try that. How do you think it worked out?
He loved the ravioli, but even a bath wouldn't take off the stain for a day or so. I still feed him ravioli, but now I rinse off the sauce first.
A few months ago Andy sold his truck, because he had his little comuter car, and the truck just wasn't getting used. Well...that didn't last long. He started a new job with the LDS Church a couple weeks ago, and is able to ride the bus back and forth downtown to work. Plus, this summer his commute will be cut down to about 2 miles because he'll be transferring to a building out here in Riverton. So, he's been pretty antsy to get a truck back and not have to drive his little Saturn anymore. (He LOVED that little car...j/k HAHA!) Well today we found him a new truck, and he said adios to the Saturn!
Any of you who knew his previous truck probably think this looks pretty similar. That's because it is! It's 6 years newer, and has 4 doors instead of two, but other than that it looks the same! We liked that truck so much that when we found a good deal on this one, we couldn't pass it up. It will be so nice to have the 4 doors, and more space in the back seat for the boys. We are excited about the new purchase!
We had quite the experience on Thanksgiving Day while we were in Idaho. I was 15 weeks, and started bleeding suddenly, so we ended up getting an ultrasound. Luckily everything was okay with the baby, and I haven't had any problems since, but the positive thing from it all was that we were able to find out we are having another little boy! We didn't expect to be able to see anything (or not see anything) that soon, but luckily we could. It was a great way to turn a scary experience into a positive one. We are so excited for Treyden to have a little brother! I'm almost 25 weeks now, and things are still looking good. The baby is healthy and doing great. I just get anxious at times to be done being pregnant! Don't get me wrong, I am SO grateful to be having another baby, especially after the experiences we had trying to have Treyden, but with only having a 5 or 6 month break in between pregnancies, I feel like I have been pregnant FOREVER! Luckily I seem to have pretty easy pregnancies, though, and don't get too sick.
Ultrasound of the baby at 19 weeks.
We are having a hard time coming up with a name that we both like. I really like the name Tanner, but Andy's not a fan. And he likes...well...good question, he won't suggest any names! It's hard because we had so long while we were waiting for Treyden that we were prepared with names, but this time we already used up our boy names, and are struggling coming up with anything else. So, if anyone has any suggestions, we'd be happy to hear them! Make sure you don't suggest anything you wouldn't want us to use, though! I know a lot of you are pregnant with little boys yourselves!
Treyden went through this stage where he was cheesing it all the time! I have no idea where he learned it, but he did it constantly. It was so funny! He even got smart enough to start doing it when he was sucking up and wanted something (or was getting into something he wasn't supposed to have). This is the best picture I got of it, and I'm warning you...it's a beauty!
I love the white trash look. The grin, the couple teeth, and the disgustingly dirty shirt... that's my handsome little man! I promise, I don't leave him in dirty clothes all the time!
Here's another cute picture of the white trash boy. The missing sock, and belly just complete the look, don't you think? Treyden loves to be read to, and I love to see these precious moments of him with his Daddy.
Treyden is growing up so fast! He started walking at 10 months, and is all over the place. His favorite thing to do lately is to play "chase". He loves to both chase us and to be chased, and would do it all day long if we would. He is also starting to understand so much. He knows to hug me when I say "Can I have a snuggle?", or to look for Dad when I say "Where's Daddy?", or "Go get Daddy", or to chase me when I say "Come get me". The phrase he hears the most, and yet listens to the least, is "No no". Guess that's payback for always being so obedient to my parents, right? :) It's so fun to see Treyden start to understand and interact so much. I can't believe he'll be a year old in a few weeks!
One of Treyden's favorite things to do lately is EAT! However, he always manages to make a huge mess. One night Andy decided it would be easier to just put him in the sink. I thought he would just use the washcloth to wipe Treyden off, but I guess he decided the mess was bad enough it required a shower. Luckily Treyden likes water! He is our little fish. The other day he was in the bathtub for over an hour, and still didn't want to get out. He splashes, drinks the water, and lays on his belly sliding back and forth along the tub like he's "swimming". I'm excited for it to get warm so we can go swimming!
Treyden was a big help when I was making Christmas candy this year. His job was to lick the spoons, and he loved every minute of it! It was a messy job, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see him so happy. He's such a spoiled boy!
